Primer Season 2
For this season of Primer, I worked on two episodes: Climate-Proof, and Humanoid Robots. Climate-Proof follows three cities that are trying to fight flooding due to climate change. This was my first time designing and animating for something that was so science-heavy. Accuracy mattered, but so did style. Finding a balance was an unexpected challenge that was incredibly rewarding.
Jakarta is sinking about 10 inches per year due to rising sea levels, and the rate at which the city pumps clean water from underneath its feet.
Map designs for this episode went through many rounds, finally landing on sharp text overlaid on satellite imagery
One of the most difficult parts of this episode was accurately designing three separate seawall models
Humanoid Robots
The second episode, Humanoid Robots, explored how AI works differently for physical entities compared to LLMs. I love designing and animating characters, so exploring how to visualize each robot was a fun challenge.
